Walmart website heats up after NSFW Christmas pyjama pictures.

On most retail websites it is starting to look a lot like Christmas, but some have taken the holidays in a new direction. A Walmart Christmas pyjama ad turns heads because it shows much more than just sleepwear.

One Twitter user shared one of the strange photos in question, which shows the pajamas for sale by holding the back of the model in front and in the middle of the camera. If you open the Walmart website, there is much more to discover, including shots of the unzipped pyjamas with a red bra all over the display.

It’s all an advertisement for a Christmas pyjama divider by Sunisery. Although it is advertised on the Walmart website, it seems to be from a third party, hence the provocative images. There is even a legal disclaimer on the page stating that Walmart did not specifically look at the product before uploading it to the website.

“Our goal is to show you accurate product information. Manufacturers, suppliers and others are providing what you see here and we haven’t checked it,” the website says before linking to a much longer legal disclaimer.

Walmart has adopted the original pajama listing from the website, although Washington Newsday has confirmed that the website and photos were not active until early afternoon.

Washington Newsday contacted Walmart with a request for further comments, particularly regarding the pajamas, and asked if there were plans to censor the images. At the time of publication, we did not receive a reply.

Walmart has a so-called “marketplace” that allows sellers to upload their products to the website. Since there is a platform where individuals can upload the items themselves, the actual team of the Walmart website has no control over which images are immediately posted on the website. Think of it like Amazon. While the website is a well-known name, independent sellers can upload their products, regardless of whether Amazon has tested the products or not.

It turns out that the questionable pyjama photos are not a completely isolated incident. The online pyjama section of Walmart has many more jumpsuits, some of which use really scandalous pictures. Many of the female models pictured have the jumpsuits unbuttoned under their breasts, while some pictures even show close-ups of female models with their fingers in their mouth. It’s a part of the Walmart website that many buyers might not find in their daily errands, and Twitter (NSFW photo linked to Tweet) hasn’t let it slip.

The tweet was originally distributed by @ImAlready_Nicee. It hadn’t gained much traction at the time of publication, but commentators had one question: Who is responsible for the Walmart website, and how were these photos approved?

So when you do your Christmas shopping on the Walmart website, be aware that some photos you didn’t want to see could find you, even if you’re innocently looking for pajamas.
