Talk show host Eve announced on Monday, November 2, on the CBS talk show that she would soon be leaving the series after four years as a panelist. This makes her the second cast member of The Talk this year after Marie Osmond’s departure in September.
However, the reasons for Eve seem to be quite different from those of her former colleague. In her announcement for the show, which was recorded from her home in London, “Let Me Blow Your Mind” cited the difficulties of recording the show from a different continent than the rest of the team and wanting to spend more time with her family.
“It’s been a crazy year, obviously for all of us, and I’m so grateful to be able to stay here in London and do the show, but I don’t see the foreseeable future of going back right now and have decided that I’ll probably be in the show for the last time in this capacity at the end of December.
This announcement comes after the British government imposed a second ban on the country, which will be in place for four weeks starting November 5th. In her announcement, Eve said: “We have another lockdown starting Thursday, and that’s another reason. Obviously it was a great blessing to stay at home because my husband and I met in a different, beautiful way. That is why I want to be closer to him. I want to focus on expanding our family, to be with my family”.
In 2014 Eve married Maximillion Cooper, the British millionaire and founder of the Gumball 3000 brand. Although the businessman has four children of his own, he and Eve, 41, do not yet have any children together.
Eve’s departure came just two months after Marie Osmond left the show. Although she also stated as a reason for her departure that she wanted to spend more time with her family, it is assumed that she also left to develop new projects with John Redmann, the former talk show runner who left a few weeks before Osmond.
So far, The Talk has not announced a replacement for either Osmond or Eve. After December the show will be reduced to three panelists (Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood and Carrie Ann Inaba) until Eve is replaced.
Eve had come to the show in season 8 as a replacement for Aisha Tyler. The “Tambourine” rapper has hosted the show from London since September, which means she hosted the 11 o’clock PT show at 7pm local time. Before filming the show from the CBS satellite office in the UK, Eve had already taken time off from the show, with Brigitte Nielsen presenting most of 2020 in her place.
In an interview with Access Live in 2019, Eve said of her time on the show: “It’s really hard… It is not an easy situation. I’m used to having a microphone and being on stage with my music, but really sitting there and having to speak my mind is kind of naked. You’re kind of naked because it’s just you with your opinion, and this is live television.
The talk is broadcast on weekdays at 11:00 PT / 14:00 ET on CBS….
