What you can expect from The Good Doctor Season 4
The exhibition begins with a two-part documentary on COVID-19, and the official summary for the first part of “Frontline” is: “Dr. Shaun Murphy is treating a patient with a disease that is not only inherently unpredictable, but unlike anything he or the team in San Jose St. Bonaventure has ever seen before. As security protocols and quarantines increase due to the global pandemic, the new relationship between Lea and Shaun will be put to the test; and Dr. Alex Park is getting ready to return to Phoenix, Arizona, to be closer to his family.
Meanwhile, the second part of the logline reads: “Dr. Shaun Murphy and Dr. Marcus Andrews discover that their patient is infected with COVID-19. As they struggle to understand and stay one step ahead of an ever-evolving virus, Shaun finds it difficult to balance his fears and anxieties that Lea’s health may be at risk and that he may want to be with the woman he loves. In the meantime, Claire is looking for a way to mourn the death of Melendez through her patients.
After this double feature with the COVID theme, the show will move on to its fourth season’s main plot, in which a number of new residents are admitted to the hospital. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, The Good Doctor’s creator, David Shore, said, “I’m always happy to see Dr. Murphy in a new context, and I know Freddie is too. Well, that’s exciting. And this new context is these new kids, these first year residents who are where Shaun was three years ago. I think we have some really interesting characters. I think they’re very real people that are going to captivate the audience and they’re going to have fun spending time with them.
