An incident occurred on Thursday morning at the facilities of animal activist Carole Baskin in Florida. According to NBC affiliate WFLA, an animal bite was reported shortly after 8 a.m. at the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa. It remains unclear which animal was involved.

According to CBS Miami, the victim was a Big Cat Rescue employee, and paramedics rushed to the scene. The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue reported that the person bitten by an animal was expected to survive. However, details of the injury are not yet known.

Dr. Baskin became famous after appearing as the central character in the Netflix documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Chaos and Madness. She also appeared in the last season of Dancing With the Stars.

Much of the Netflix series focused on her feud with Joe Exotic and seemed to accuse her of the murder of her first husband, Don Lewis. Baskin has since denied these allegations.

The Big Cat Rescue is currently closed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic.
