Hermann Pfanner Getränke GmbH warns against various iced tea beverages that were offered at the supermarket chains EDEKA and Marktkauf. Due to a production error, parts of the thread may come loose and get into the drink. As these foreign bodies represent a potential health hazard, the affected iced tea varieties are recalled. The manufacturer advises against consumption.
Why is the iced tea recalled?
“During the production of the bottles and in the filling process, the interaction of unfavorable factors has resulted in a partially defective threaded screw connection,” the manufacturer writes in a customer information. For this reason, small fragments can come loose from the thread when opening and closing the drink. These foreign bodies can get into the beverage during pouring and be drunk along with it. Depending on the shape and size of the fragment, such plastic particles pose a potential health risk.
If you have already purchased the above mentioned goods, you can return them to the respective sales outlet. The purchase price will be refunded there. Questions to the recall answer the customer service of the Hermann Pfanner beverages GmbH from Monday to Sunday from 06:00 to 22:30 o’clock under the telephone number 0800 3335211. (vb)
