Several news channels interrupted President Donald Trump on Thursday evening during a press conference on the election. MSNBC, NPR, CBS and NBC did not let Trump finish his statement, which was peppered with false allegations about the election. These were his first statements since his early morning speech after election day on Wednesday, when he made misleading statements about the vote-counting process.
At the time of reporting, Joe Biden is leading both the electoral college and the popular vote on Trump. The votes from Pennsylvania, Nevada, North Carolina, Georgia, Alaska and Arizona have not yet been called.
“Here again we are in the unusual position of not only interrupting the President of the United States, but also correcting the President of the United States…” said Brian Williams of MSNBC.

A few users also noted that NPR Trumps cut off speech, such as political advisor Adam Parkhomenko.
“Trump is now speaking to the media. NPR cut him off for a fact check. An unacceptable decision,” said Ralph Nader. “Then I flipped through all those many commercial radio stations. They didn’t bring Trump’s comments. They were abusing our public airwaves, for free.”
NPR just cut Trump off.

Others pointed out that David Muir of ABC also ended Trump’s statement because “there is much to check”.

In addition, Lester Holt of NBC cut the president off after “a series of false statements,” twittered one user. Another noticed that Trump’s appearance was cut short after he said “illegal voices”.
Lester Holt of NBC simply cut Trump’s appearance off after Trump made a ânumber of false statements.â Good!

MSNBC cut to Trump and as soon as he said âillegal votesâ, Brian Williams came back and said ânope we areât doing this.â and turned off his press conference.

According to Michael Grynbaum of the New York Times, CBS also came out on top. “The three major broadcasters – ABC, CBS and NBC – all cut off after Trump made false allegations at a White House appearance,” Grynbaum said.
“There are literally dozens of Republican observers in Philadelphia, where absentee ballots are counted. And it’s being broadcast live,” David Becker of CBS also twittered on Thursday night. “The Philadelphia election workers welcome all qualified observers, as well as all PA districts and throughout the United States.

However, CNN has not cut off the president. After his speech Anderson Cooper expressed his shock. He called the president an “obese turtle on his back, flailing in the hot sun, realizing that his time is over”.

Trump’s speech was full of misleading information about election fraud and how the votes are counted. “They are trying to manipulate an election. They are trying to steal an election,” Trump told reporters, with no evidence to support his claims.
“If you count the legal votes, I win easily. If you count the illegal votes, they may try to steal the election if you count the votes that are too spurious to be legal.
