Locations for ‘Loki’ Filming: The TVA Building is a Real Hotel That Marvel Has Previously Used

The first episode of Loki is now available on Disney+. After being caught in the act of creating a variant timeline that could kick off a multiverse of mayhem—or at the very least the movie Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness—the god of mischief, played by Tom Hiddleston, works his way through the brutalist bureaucracy of the Time Variance Authority (TVA).

The TVA offices appear to be in a futuristic metropolis outside of time in the Disney+ episode. In truth, the offices are located in a real hotel in the United States, which eagle-eyed Marvel fans may have recognized from another project.

Where did Loki get his start?

The TVA offices are located in the heart of Atlanta, which has hosted several Marvel movie locations.

The Atlanta Marriott Marquis, a 52-story building that is one of the city’s 15 tallest structures, provided the setting for much of the Disney+ series. The hotel, which opened in 1985, is renowned in the area as the “Pregnant Building” because of its bulging base.

The vast atrium at the center of the building, which rises over 150 meters into the air and divides the building into two portions connected by elevator shafts, is what attracts directors to the location. It held the world record for the largest atrium until 1999, when it was surpassed by Dubai’s Burj Al Arab.

In the Spotlight Loki is played by Tom Hiddleston. For the new Disney+ Original series Loki, Tom Hiddleston reprises his role as Loki.

Viewers got a glimpse of this magnificent atrium in the trailer for Loki, when it was seen as the atrium of the TVA offices, and home of giant statues paying tribute to the Time Keepers who control the MCU timeline.

This distinctive architecture has made the Marquis a hotel that many directors have filmed in. The hotel was featured in The Hunger Games franchise, playing the tribute center in the Capitol. Other movies that have been shot there include Flight, starring Denzel Washington, and the original Hannibal Lector. This is a condensed version of the information.
