Khloe Kardashian is on the defensive for her big sister. During an appearance on Thursday’s Ellen DeGeneres Show, the reality star defended the trip that her family and friends took to celebrate Kim’s 40th birthday. After Kim showed a series of maskless photos from the trip on Tuesday, she faced severe backlashes because she was traveling in the middle of the pandemic.
Kardashian revealed that only 20 to 25 people went on the trip for her sister and defended that the past year had been “frustrating” for everyone.
“I didn’t hear much about it, but I heard that people were upset that we all drove out of town. I don’t really know how far that went,” Kardashian told DeGeneres. “But this year is a frustrating year,” Kardashian said. I understand that. I think there are so many frustrations for everyone. But it’s also her 40th, which is something she wanted to do for us. It was such a beautiful thing.”
The reality star also said that the staff on the private island was also grateful that they were there. “With all the arrangements we made to be there and be part of it and how grateful everyone was for the tourist aspect,” enthused Khloe.

“So many people said that we were their first party with guests in months and what it means for them to be able to pay their bills or do something for their family. When we heard these messages, we felt really good and felt so safe,” she continued. “We did it in the safest way I can imagine anyone doing it.
Kardashian focuses more on the amazing memories that her family had in common than on the backlash they faced. “It was such a beautiful experience and I want Kim to focus on how beautiful it was and what she did for everyone,” she concluded, “I don’t want that to overshadow the whole greatness.
On Tuesday, Kim shared a glimpse of her lavish birthday, full of tropical landscapes and without masks of the Kardashian clan.
The one tweet that Kim shared, which triggered a particular backlash, was “After two weeks of several health checks and asking everyone to be quarantined, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend for a brief moment that everything was normal.
Despite participating in constant health screenings and Covid-19 tests, it seemed numb and upset many who could not afford the luxury of dropping everything and going to a private island.

Of course, the Internet reacted and created a meme from the absurd tweet, in which people shared their version of an island where they could “pretend that everything is normal, just for a short moment”.
