Do you miss the experience of seeing new films in the cinema during the pandemic? Well, soon you will be able to watch a bunch of fresh blockbusters right at home, the same day they debut on the big screen.
Earlier in the day, HBO Max announced that the films Warner Bros. Pictures plans to release in 2021 will also be available exclusively on the platform on the same day. As part of a “strategic response” to the coronavirus pandemic, each new film will be available on HBO Max for one month. All films on HBO Max will be available on 4K Ultra HD and HDR, according to a press release.
The preliminary list of Warner Bros. Pictures for 2021 includes The Little Things, Judas and the Black Messiah, Tom & Jerry, Godzilla vs. Kong, Mortal Kombat, Those Who Want Me Dead, The Con conjuring: The Devil Made Me, In the Heights, Space Jam: A New Legacy, The Suicide Squad, Reminiscence, Malignant, Dune, The Many Saints of Newark, King Richard, Cry Macho and Matrix 4.
“This hybrid exhibition model allows us to provide the best possible support for our films, creative partners and filmmaking in general throughout 2021,” said Toby Emmerich, Chairman of Warner Bros.
“We have a fantastic, diverse selection of titles from talented and visionary filmmakers for next year, and we look forward to showing these films to audiences around the world. And as always, we will support all of our releases with innovative and robust marketing campaigns for their cinema debuts, while highlighting this unique opportunity to see our films domestically via HBO Max.
