When does His Dark Materials season 2 start in the USA?
The release date for the premiere of His Dark Materials Season 2 is Monday, November 16, when the episode will air on HBO at 9 pm.
The first episode is entitled “The City of Magpies”. The summary of the episode is: “Lyra and Will explore a new world. The magistrate takes action based on past events. Lee Scoresby [Lin-Manuel Miranda] goes on a mission.
Season 2 of the series will have seven episodes – one less than in the previous season, as the series was unable to complete a planned episode of Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) before production was halted due to the coronavirus.

How to look at His dark materials season 2 online
Although the first episode of His Dark Materials Season 2 is now being broadcast on the BBC iPlayer, this is a purely British service, which means that American viewers cannot watch it at the moment.
The first episode of the new season will be online on Monday 16 November, the same day that “The City of Magpies” is broadcast on HBO. The episode will be broadcast on HBO Max shortly after the broadcast.
This means that some viewers will be able to watch His Dark Materials Season 2 online for free. HBO Max offers new subscribers a free seven-day trial period, so viewers can watch not only the BBC drama, but also the other 10,000 hours of premium content on the streamer – including the first season of His Dark Materials.
After this one-week free trial period, the service will cost $14.99 per month – although a cheaper ad-financed stage is scheduled to be introduced in early 2021.

His Dark Materials Season 2 will be broadcast on Sundays at 20:10 GMT on BBC One and at 21:00 ET on HBO from November 16th.
