Here, Play With This Quantum Puppet

ColdQuanta, a Colorado-based company, revealed this week that it has put “quantum matter on the cloud.” Which means, exactly what? To unpack this ideal pair of buzz words, ColdQuanta refers to a series of tens of thousands of rubidium atoms cooled to near absolute zero by “quantum matter.” “On the cloud” means that you can poke and prod the atoms openly and from afar via its website by filling out an online application and receiving the company’s approval.

Unlike those we perceive in normal, room-temperature, macroscopic objects, these cold rubidium atoms display distinctly quantum behavior. They possess properties of both particles and waves, for example.
