Elimination of the “masked singer”: these were the celebrities who hid behind the snowy owl costumes.

The snowy owls, who turned out to be Clint Black and Lisa Hartman, were sent home on Wednesday night during the finals of Group A with The Masked Singer.

The evidence suggested that the owls had an empty nest, and after kissing (with masks!) on stage, they were probably romantically involved, rather than brother and sister, as some suspected.

Besides, a drink from Roy Rogers, the Parthenon, a rocking horse and a spaceship were all signs of this. “Sharing the stage is new to us, but being up here together feels more and more like home,” was another indication given during Wednesday’s episode.

The judges had completely different opinions about who the singers really were. Ken Jeong suspected that Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman were behind the feathered costumes, having previously suspected Julianne and Derek Hough.

Meanwhile, guest speaker Niecy Nash, who joked that her secret weapon was “mother ears,” said country singer Brad Paisley and his wife Kimberly Williams were the duo.

Robin Thicke thought that Amy Grant and Vince Gille were the owls because they referred to country music and Nashville. Jenny McCarthy said that her last guess was also Grant and Gill.

Nicole Scherzinger believed after her first performance that it was Donnie and Marie Osmond, but eventually she hit the nail on the head with her hunch of Black and Hartman.

“When I first saw the costumes, I actually cried because they are so beautiful, but they are so cute,” Hartman said about the Snowy Owls costume. “I could hardly wait to wear them.”

The sun, popcorn and snowy owls started the episode by singing P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass” together. The Sun then sang “Piece of Your Heart” by Janis Joplin. Popcorn sang “Domino” by Jessie J. The Snowy Owls followed with Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s ballad “The Prayer”.

During the smackdown round the snowy owls sang another Dion hit: “Because You Loved Me”. Popcorn followed with “(Everything I Do It For You) I Do It For You” by Bryan Adams.

The members of Group C, who had been eliminated in the fourth season so far, were Wendy Williams, dressed as Lips, and Bob Saget as the squiggly monster.

Group B participants Mark Sanchez as Baby Alien and Mickey Rourke as Gremlin were also eliminated from the squad. In addition, the dragon (Busta Rhymes) and the giraffe (Brian Austin Green) of Group A are no longer in the squad.

The following have not yet been unmasked: The jellyfish, mushrooms and broccoli of the group C; the seahorse, the snake, the crocodile and Whatchamacallit of the group B as well as the sun and the popcorn of the group A were not yet uncovered.

The masked singer will be broadcast Wednesday at 8 pm on FOX 5….
