The Kanne Brottrunk GmbH & Co. Betriebsgesellschaft KG from Selm-Bork (North Rhine-Westphalia) has started a recall for the product “Kanne Brottrunk” in the 0.75 liter glass bottle. According to the company, it cannot be excluded that there are glass particles in the drink. The consumption of the product is not recommended.
“During the product filling process at the Selm-Bork site, glass breakage occurred due to a technical malfunction. The fault has already been rectified. We cannot rule out the possibility that individual glass particles were found in bottles from this production”, the company explains in a statement published by the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) on its portal “lebensmittelwarnung.de”.
Glass breakage due to a technical fault
According to the information, the batch was filled exclusively on 06.04.2020 at the Selm-Bork site and was sold exclusively by Alnatura Germany, Alnatura Switzerland and tegut. These companies have since withdrawn the product concerned from sale. Customers can return products with this lot code via the usual purchase route. The purchase price of the product will be refunded.
The Kanne Brottrunk GmbH & Co. Betriebsgesellschaft KG advises its customers as a precaution not to consume the beverages of the affected batch. Food that could contain glass splinters or broken glass should generally not be consumed. This is because they can lead to serious injuries in the mouth and throat area or even internal injuries. In food production, errors in the manufacturing processes repeatedly lead to contamination or foreign bodies such as glass, aluminum or plastic residues. (ad)
