21 places that offer free food for election day and other business


Election day is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than with stress eating and taking advantage of over a dozen discounts? Restaurants, carpooling services and even Planet Fitness will be offering free food and services at a reduced price on Tuesday and beyond.

Here are all the places where you can get free food and sweet deals on election day, because let’s face it: if you’re fulfilling your civic duty in the middle of a pandemic, you deserve it!

Baked By Melissa will give voters a 10% discount on their purchases in all stores until Election Day.

Boston Market will offer a free slider to customers after 9 pm on Election Day.

Through Grubhub, Burger King customers starting at $18 can get a $3 discount on every purchase.

The Mediterranean chain CAVA and ZoesKitchen will offer free meals to the election workers.

At Chili’s, customers will receive a Presidente cocktail worth $5 until election day. These special cocktails are made with Sauza Tequila, Patron Citrónge and E&J Brandy.

The Chopt salad chain will offer free in-store meals for customers who provide proof that they have participated in the surveys.

The DoorDash delivery service offers free delivery for orders with a minimum order value of $15 or more if you enter the promo code VOTE at checkout. If you already own DoorPass (which provides free delivery to members with an order value of $12 or more), you can get a 10% discount on your order at the checkout by entering the promo code DPVOTE.

Dos Toros gives away free meals worth $15 each to survey members who can prove that they spent time at the polls.

Krispy Kreme gives each customer an original glazed doughnut. The doughnut chain will also distribute stickers with the words “I VOTED” to those who have not already received the adult equivalent of a participation award.

The Lyft rideshare app offers a 50% discount on a ride up to $10 for anyone who uses code 2020VOTE to go to a polling station or ballot box. The same applies to bicycles and scooters.

McDonald’s gives away an apple pie, a blueberry muffin or a cinnamon roll when you buy a hot or iced coffee via the McDonald’s app. This offer is valid from November 3 to 9 – you are very welcome!

New customers of P.F. Chang’s receive a $10 discount on their order through Grubhub.

Fitness friends, this one is for you. Planet Fitness offers free training and hydromassage until Sunday for those who vote for it.

Pret A Manger also offers a discount through Grubhub. Customers can get a $5 discount on orders starting at $15.

Red Lobster customers receive free delivery on election day for any order over $25 through Grubhub.

Shake Shack gives survey workers a free “in-shack” sandwich (options include Shackburger and Chick’n Shack) from Sunday through Election Day when they purchase an ID card.

Tim Horton’s reward members can get a free dark roasted coffee until Sunday.

People who use Uber to get to the polls get a 50% discount on their trip. Cyclists and scooter users will also be able to take advantage of this discount.
