Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has ridiculed U.S. President Donald Trump’s strategy for dealing with the U.S. coronavirus crisis by publishing a fake “Trump COVID Plan” Web site.

The number of coronavirus cases in the US has continued to rise, with 85,000 new cases reported on Friday alone.

“After eight months of this pandemic, we have finally found President Trump’s plan to beat COVID-19,” Biden twittered on Saturday with a link to trumpcovidplan.com.

On the landing page of the website a “Not Found” message is displayed saying “The Trump plan to defeat the coronavirus and safely reopen it does not exist”. There is also a request to web users to learn more.

After clicking on the link, a slider will display a series of tweets and comments from the President throughout the pandemic, with the number of deaths caused by COVID-19 being displayed continuously.

“Donald Trump had eight months to use science, public health and the power of the Presidency to reopen the pandemic safely and save American lives,” the website says. “But we are hardly better equipped today to deal with the threat of COVID-19 than we were eight months ago.

“Donald Trump has failed to lead, and Americans are paying for it with their lives.”

Some of the quotes include Donald Trump’s statement, “I told my people, ‘Please slow down the tests.'”

This was on June 20th, when the number of deaths from coronavirus reached 122,510.

Mr. Trump was also quoted as saying, “I said to my people, ‘Please slow down the tests: ‘It’s going to go away, and like I said, we come around the corner, we come around the corner, it goes away.

He made the remarks on the COVID 19 pandemic during the final presidential debate on October 22. At that time, the United States had 223,032 COVID-19 fatalities.
