Within Eminem’s Feud With Charlamagne Tha God, Host of “The Breakfast Club”
Eminem has a history of squabbling with other celebrities. Marshall Mathers has called out everyone from fellow rappers to movie stars to actors throughout his career. And radio hosts aren’t immune to their names appearing on a diss track.
Continue reading to learn why the “Stan” singer had a beef with Charlamagne Tha God, a well-known morning show host.
Charlamagne, the God, who is he?
Charlamagne Tha God, along with DJ Envy and Angela Yee, is a co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Breakfast Club.
Charlamagne Tha God was born Lenard McKelvey in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, on June 29, 1978. After interning at a station in Charleston, he decided to pursue a career in radio. He rose to prominence as a host at Columbia’s Hot 103.9 (WHXT-FM). In 2006, Charlamagne left South Carolina to join Wendy Williams’ iconic radio show in New York City. Later, he became the host of NYC’s Power 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club, dubbed “The World’s Most Dangerous Morning Show.”
Because of his “bite my tongue for no one” mantra, Charlamagne has been compared to Howard Stern, who was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2020. And a feud erupted when he took a shot at Eminem.
Diss by Eminem and Charlamagne’s retort
Charlamagne said Slim Shady’s album Revival was garbage after it was released in 2017. When the rapper found out, he used his Kamikaze album to slam the radio host.
“Charlamagne going to hate anyway, doesn’t matter what I say/Give me Donkey of the Day,” Em raps on “Ringer.”
On the track “Fall,” the hip-hop artist mentioned Charlamagne again, saying, “One last time for Charlamagne/If my answer is late, it’s just how long it takes/To touch my f*ckin’ radar, I’m so far away.”
“It’s always cool when you get…,” Charlamagne said in an interview with Esquire about Em dissing him on Kamikaze. This is a condensed version of the plot. I hope you found it entertaining.
