Which Snoopy and Charlie Brown ‘Peanuts’ Film Is the Best?

Snoopy and the Peanuts gang are best known for television specials including It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, and A Charlie Brown Christmas/Thanksgiving. They made four feature-length animated films between 1969 and 1980, or five if you count The Peanuts Movie from 2015. So, which method is the most efficient?

The four original films were released on Blu-ray on May 18 by Paramount. The Snoopy Set includes A Boy Named Charlie Brown, Snoopy Come Home, Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown, please Bon Voyage, and Charlie Brown (And Don’t Come Back). Here’s how we feel about them both, as well as The Peanuts Movie.

With ‘A Boy Named Charlie Brown,’ the Snoopy film franchise gets off to a great start.

A Young Man Named The first 30 minutes of Charlie Brown are just a series of vignettes, like animated Peanuts comic strips. Reading whole stories about children looking at clouds, making kites, and playing baseball is so charming. It’s heartwarming to see kids having their own fun, just like they used to before technology took over.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving includes the Weirdest Thanksgiving Meal Ever.

Finally, the tale of the spelling bee takes over. Charlie develops an interest in competing, which leads to a subplot involving Linus’ blanket being misplaced. All is very effective, and it all fits in with the Peanuts aesthetic.

The fact that these children ask for very little is almost tragic. Linus has a nervous breakdown because all it takes to make him happy is a blanket. Charlie just wants to fly a kite, so he makes a new one when his first one breaks. And everybody is trying to sabotage his good time. Everyone, thankfully, has a happy ending, but the journey there is emotional.

With ‘Snoopy Come Home,’ the ‘Peanuts’ franchise was given a new lease on life.

Snoopy Come Home is without a doubt the superior sequel, and it is in this film that the Peanuts films find their footing. This is the first time I’ve come across… The plot has been simplified in this summary. I hope it was enjoyable for you.
