There Is One Significant Difference Between Tariq and His Father in ‘Power Book II: Ghost.’

Despite the fact that Power Book II: Ghost has only been on the air for one season, it already possesses the same pace and vigor as its predecessor Power. Following the death of his father, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.) leads a normal life. Tariq must finish college in order to fulfill the provisions of his father’s will and receive his inheritance. He is, however, far more than your average college student. Aside from education, the 18-year-old is working to get his mother, Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton), out of prison.

With little money, Tariq falls into his father’s shoes and starts selling narcotics for Monet Tejada, the wicked drug queenpin (Mary J. Blige). Though Tariq came to despise his father, eventually killing him with his rifle, it emerges that the father and son had a lot more in common than we previously assumed.

When will ‘Power Book II: Ghost’ be released?

The first season of Power Book II: Ghost has come to an end with a bang. Tariq was able to get Tasha out of jail, but not without leaving a trail of destruction in his wake. He’s become further entrenched in Monet’s inner circle, making him an enemy of her estranged son Cane (Woody McClain). In addition, Tariq assassinated his college adviser, Jabari Reynolds (Justin Marcel McManus), after the professor discovered he was peddling drugs.

Power Book II: Ghost is currently filming its second season in New York City. The new season is expected to premiere in the fall of 2021, though the Starz network has not yet announced a date.

Courtney A. Kemp, the show’s creator, predicts that Tariq’s second season will be even more explosive. “Where we had begun an encroachment of his drug life into his school life with the incidents that took place in episode 8 with the attempt on his life and the body in the pool, now his whole drug life is crashed into his campus life… This is a condensed version of the narrative. I hope you found it entertaining.
