Actress and singer Anna Kendrick recently gave an interview in which she revealed the secret ingredient of her wellness routine. This special spice keeps Kendrick going and gives her the energy she needs to shoot big movie hits like the famous Twilight Saga. So what is this mysterious ingredient that inspired Kendrick enough to talk about it in an interview?
Kendrick is a 34-year-old Hollywood actress known for her versatility in films like the aforementioned Twilight Saga and the popular Disney Plus Christmas movie “Noelle”. Besides acting, she has a beautiful singing voice, and she has performed her vocal chords on the big screen in front of fans more than once.
For the first time she thrilled the fans with her singing chops in the musical comedy Pitch Perfect, released in 2012, a role she also played in the other two films of the franchise. One of the songs she sings in the film, “Cups”, even made it into the Top 10 of the Billboard charts.
Kendrick also sang and played the lead role alongside Meryl Streep in the 2014 musical film “Into the Woods”. There is no doubt that Kendrick has already achieved enormous success in show business.
In a recent interview with Shape magazine, Kendrick admitted that she tries not to take wellness too seriously.
“Every time I try something new, I think: I’ve found it! I’ve found the only workout I’ll ever need! Then I get so obsessed with it that I burn out and have to start over with something new,” she revealed.
The article says Kendrick was a vegan for a few years and loved it before she “went super hard” and gave it up. It seems Kendrick is having a hard time keeping up with the wellness routines, just like the rest of us.
The actress said that the most important thing in her life right now is not to find a strict exercise regime, but to inject some playfulness into her life.
“A large part of my life over the last ten years has been work, rest, work, rest. That doesn’t leave much room for anything else. That is the way of thinking and the reality for many people. You work and then you relax so you can work even more. Bringing a little fun and stupidity into my life is one of my goals,” she explained.
Kendrick is “powered by” this spice
But that doesn’t mean that Kendrick doesn’t think about her well-being at all. She told the magazine that one thing she found that really worked for her was ginger. “I’m driven by ginger,” she said, which gives us an indication of how she had the stamina to build such a strong acting career.
In fact, the actress says she can hardly live without the ginger root.
“When I travel and can’t eat ginger, I get sick. There was a time when I was in Germany for three months and couldn’t find a place for crushed juice. So I bought a juicer and a bunch of ginger to make it myself, because I was sure that was the only thing that kept me alive,” she said.
It seems that ginger is really life-saving for Kendrick. It makes it easy for her to get her daily fix by keeping it readily available in her home.
