Season 2 had a cast full of gamers and a few Catfish. The 32-year-old mom chose to play as her husband.
“On social media, people look at me. They think I’m cocky. They probably think I’m cocky,” she said in the first episode. “On social media, men have it so easy. So I decided I was going to play Trevor on The Circle.”
Said she, he’s “handsome, but he’s not seen as a threat.” Delessa planned to portray him as a “nice single dad.” She said single dads get all the women. So the plan was for him to attract the ladies and be “buddies” with the other guys.
Her plan went almost smoothly. But there were a few shaky moments along the way.
Deleesa used a notebook to avoid being betrayed.
‘The Circle’ season 2: How can fans watch the finale? Who was in the reunion?
‘The Circle’ has the cast participate in trivia games and contests. Trevor was chosen to answer a sports question. She was given a picture of Bulls players Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman and Michael Jordan and asked to name them.
Deleesa was able to recognize Rodman and Jordan. But she had a very hard time naming the third player. She got out her notebook to go over her notes, and in the end she said Scottie Pippen.
It’s a good thing she was right, or her mistake could have exposed her as a catfish. But what else was in her mighty notebook?

Fans saw some moments when Deleesa relied on her notebook to get herself out of difficult situations. But how was it created and what else was in it? She told Refinery29 that she studied with her husband before going on the show.
“We studied every night for at least two hours,” she said. “I was writing stuff. He was writing stuff.” They wrote down things that would be helpful in conversations, like a list of men’s haircuts, cologne brands, whiskeys, cars, workouts, sports-themed video games.
They also included details about Trevor, such as where he grew up, his shoe size, what he wore and more. His favorite players also made it into the notebook, with a list of Knicks players, rappers and more.
The couple also jotted down the rules of games, famous players’ numbers, team logos and sports terms. She had a lot of notes, but no pictures.
If you’re going to play in the Wels district, it helps to be prepared. Maybe this will become a common strategy for future players.
