‘The Challenge’: Wes Bergmann and Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio Have a TV Show Coming Up
The epic fight between Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Wes Bergmann is well-known among fans of MTV’s The Challenge. The two opponents had been playing the game together for years and had now decided to team up for The Challenge: Total Madness to try to win. The famed combo appears to be reuniting once more, albeit on a different show this time.
Is Johnny ‘Bananas’ Devenanzio friendly with Wes Bergmann? They’ve appeared on MTV’s ‘The Challenge’ before.
On MTV’s The Challenge, Wes and Johnny “Bananas” have a long history. Their rivalry began in 2009 with the release of The Ruins. Wes and Johnny were on the same squad at first, but Johnny’s allegiances stayed with Kenny Santucci and Evan Starkman. Wes was eventually targeted by Kenny and Evan. Following Kenny and Evan, Johnny broke his alliance with Wes and began their feud.
They reconciled a few times over the years, but on The Challenge, they continued to backstab each other, culminating in the same legendary feud. Finally, in season 35 of Total Madness, they agreed that the only way to win the money was to get to the end together. They put their enmity aside and spent the majority of the game together, and they came away as friends.
“I think at the end of the day, Wes Bergmann just wanted to be my friend,” Johnny stated on the Challenge Mania podcast, “all this time, all these years, and all that’s been said.” “And I think that coming into this season and me putting it all out there and saying, ‘Wes, you have my heart and you have my trust,’ I believe that’s what he’s always wanted deep down.”
Wes and Johnny ‘Bananas’ will be featured in a television special.
