Arnold Schwarzenegger is regarded as one of the greatest action stars to ever grace the silver screen. Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made a name for himself as a championship bodybuilder before moving into acting and appearing in hit films including Terminator and Twins.

Even though Arnold Schwarzenegger is well-known for his legendary work in the American entertainment industry, many people are unaware of the amount of effort he put in to get to the United States. Schwarzenegger was born and raised in Austria, but he still felt at home in the United States. As a result, he made tremendous sacrifices in order to see his dream realized.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger was a child in Austria, he fell in love with America.

Arnold Schwarzenegger enlisted the help of ballet instructors to learn how to pose for bodybuilding competitions.

Schwarzenegger was born shortly after World War II in Austria. Schwarzenegger recalled first falling in love with America after seeing footage of its massive landmarks during an interview with Graham Bensinger.

“I recall seeing videos of New York and the high rises, including the Empire State Building,” Schwarzenegger said. “The highways and freeways, as well as the bridges and everything else, seemed impossibly large to me. It was enormous.”

America was nothing like Thal, Schwarzenegger’s tiny Austrian village, which appeared unremarkable in comparison to the United States.

“When you live in a small village in Austria, you see something small,” Schwarzenegger said. “Little bridges, little engines, small four-cylinder cars, one-cylinder motorcycles and mopeds, and the like. The Harley Davidson, on the other hand, was a massive motorcycle. The huge Cadillacs with the wings and all that stuff. So everything was just gigantic, and I just fell in love with that.

He knew he belonged in America
