Season 9 Teaser Image Reveals His New Name and Job on ‘Dexter’
Dexter Morgan’s life has completely changed since the last time you saw him. After faking his death and fleeing Florida, Dexter ended in 2013 with the lab tech/serial killer in Oregon. Years later, he is still hiding, but in a new environment, with a new name and a new job.
Dexter Morgan is no longer alive.
Dexter worked as a forensic analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department for eight seasons. He’d started over as a lumberjack by the end of the series.
Rather than continuing from there, the Dexter reboot will begin in the present day. According to Entertainment Tonight, “Set 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival sees the character now living under an assumed name in a world away from Miami,” reads the logline.
The fictional remote town of Iron Lake, New York, has since been revealed as the location. Michael C. Hall (Dexter Morgan) previously told the website Louder Than War, “As far as what I can reveal about the new show is, I don’t want to say much, other than as you can imagine given where we left him, his life is completely recontextualized.” “He’s in a different place, living a different life in a different environment with different people.”
Dexter has assumed a new identity as Jim Lindsay, a sales associate at Fred’s Fish & Game, according to a teaser image shared on the Dexter Twitter page.
Fans of ‘Dexter’ have noticed something strange in the background of the Season 9 teaser.
However, old habits die hard.
While it might look like Dexter has changed for the better, showrunner Clyde Phillips has implied that the character will kill again.
“Dexter always has what we call ‘the dark passenger’ living inside him,” he previously explained to TV Insider. “He is more grounded than he’s ever… This story is a short summary. Hope you enjoyed.
