Salma Hayek thought it was a joke when Marvel offered her the part of the ‘Eternals.’

Many Marvel fans were excited to learn that Salma Hayek will be starring in the upcoming film Eternals. The film stars Angelina Jolie, Kit Harington, and Millie Bobby Brown and is set to be released in November.

After signing on for Eternals, Hayek, who is of Mexican descent, became the first Latino actor to land a major role in a Marvel film.

Hayek initially believed she was being punked because of her age, gender, and ethnic background when Marvel called to offer her the role of Ajak.

Salma Hayek felt like she was being punked as Marvel summoned the “Eternals.”

During her Hollywood struggles, directors ordered Salma Hayek to “Sound Dumber.”

Hayek discussed the experience in a recent interview with Variety, disclosing that she had never contemplated acting in a Marvel film before.

“I never saw myself in a Marvel movie. I guess I thought the boat had sailed, so it caught me completely off guard. I got a call out of nowhere saying, ‘They want to talk to you about a new franchise.’ ‘Wait, what?’ I was ecstatic. And I replied, “OK,” but they don’t tell you anything until you call them. It’s impossible to be an action hero if you’re Mexican. It’s incredibly difficult to be a Mexican woman and an action hero at the same time. But being an action hero, being Mexican, a woman, and being my age made me feel punked.”

Even after signing on for the role, Hayek was unable to publicize her accomplishment because Marvel is known for keeping their films under wraps.

Hayek added, “Then there’s the fact that I was one of the first people they cast.” “I had to keep my mouth shut for months. I wasn’t able to tell anybody. And I was eagerly anticipating the day when I would be able to claim it.”

She had no knowledge of the ‘Eternals’ prior to agreeing… The plot has been simplified in this summary. I hope it was enjoyable for you.
