Queen Elizabeth II is ‘Actually Doing Remarkably Well,’ according to the Queen. Prince Edward, Prince Philip’s son, Speaks After His Father’s Death
The world is getting an update on his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, from Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. The 57-year-old revealed how the queen is doing following the loss of her longtime husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in a recent interview.
On April 9th, Prince Philip passed away.
According to a royal biographer, Princess Diana was “very grateful” to Prince Philip.
Philip died on April 9, 2021, after a month in the hospital. In February 2021, he was admitted to the hospital with an infection and a pre-existing heart ailment. During that time, Prince Charles caused some consternation when he was seen visiting Philip in hospital.
Philip did not return to Windsor Castle, where he and the queen were staying at the time, until mid-March. Less than a month later, Buckingham Palace issued a statement announcing Philip’s death, which read:

Philip was 99 years old and had spent decades publicly standing by the queen’s side. He has been wedded to the queen since 1947. They celebrated 72 years of marriage in November 2020 and had four children together; Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew, and Edward.
Following Philip’s death, the queen began an eight-day period of mourning leading up to his scaled-back funeral on April 17, 2021, which included only 30 guests.
