Adult animated series are having a moment right now. First and foremost, it’s crucial to remember that cartoons haven’t always been solely for children, and adult-oriented animated entertainment is nothing new.

In reality, many of the “classic” cartoons that we now think of as children’s shows were originally created for adults. There’s no denying that mature material can be found in shows like Family Guy, The Simpsons, South Park, and King of the Hill these days.

Rick and Morty is one of the most popular animated adult programs, and it has given certain actors a chance to shine — or at least give their voices a chance to shine.

Fans of ‘Rick and Morty’ are speculating about Season 5 after seeing a new teaser.

Rick and Morty debuted on Cartoon Network’s late-night programming Adult Swim in 2013. The show fit in perfectly with Robot Chicken and Mike Tyson Mysteries on the network.

Rick and Morty is mostly about two characters, as the title suggests. Rick is a brilliant scientist who suffers from a drinking problem, which leads to his irresponsibility. He embarks on adventures with Morty, his 14-year-old grandson, who is jittery and not nearly as bright as his brilliant grandfather. The two go on adventures across the “infinite universe,” mostly causing trouble along the way.

The show is a mishmash of absurdist nonsense, clever gags, and topical commentary — including an announcement from the characters about the importance of washing one’s hands during the pandemic. The fifth season of the show is eagerly anticipated by fans.

‘Rick and Morty’ was created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland

Justin Roiland, co-creator of Rick and Morty, has revealed that his dog Jerry has cancer.
