Despite the drama that erupted at the end of Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, Rachael Kirkconnell and Matt James are rekindling their romance. In a recent interview, James discussed his relationship with the graphic designer, revealing how he knew she was “The One” and what helped them rekindle their romance.

Kirkconnell was first introduced to Bachelor Nation during Season 25 of The Bachelor. From the start, the Georgia native was a frontrunner, as James seemed enthralled by her and their meaningful interactions.
Kirkconnell ended up winning James’ season and receiving his final rose. However, controversial photos of Kirkconnell attending an antebellum plantation-themed party surfaced online before the season finale.
Some fans even found screenshots of racist Instagram posts that Kirkconnell had “liked,” such as a photo of friends posing in front of a Confederate flag.
The posts quickly spread across the internet and eventually reached James, who decided to leave Kirkconnell.
