Kim and Khloé Kardashian have responded to Jameela Jamil’s criticism of their weight-loss advertisements.

Since launching their hit reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians in 2007, the Kardashian/Jenner family has been known to slap their names on a variety of items and labels in order to diversify their huge fortune. The eldest Kardashian women, in particular, have been chastised in recent years for their continued marketing of weight-loss items.

The Kardashians have come under fire from members of the body positivity community, including The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil, who has found their marketing of items like Flat Tummy Tea irresponsible and sad. Kim Kardashian West and Khloé Kardashian are now clapping back at Jamil after remaining quiet.

No, it’s not true.

Fuck it. No, it’s not true. You have a horrible, poisonous effect on young women. I respect their mother’s branding skills; she’s an exploitative yet creative genius; nevertheless, this family makes me despondent about what women have been reduced to. zDPN1T8sBM (https://twitter.com/zDPN1T8sBM)

Jameela Jamil slammed the Kardashians for marketing weight-loss items in this way.

Jamil has criticized both Kim Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian in the past for being toxic influences on young girls. Kim K. is a “terrible and toxic influence on young people,” according to the Good Place actress. The KKW mogul’s obsession with weight, Jamil said, “makes me feel actual despair about what women are reduced to.”

Jamil didn’t hold back when it came to Khloé Kardashian’s Flat Tummy Tea commercials. She wrote in the comments section beneath one of the reality star’s advertisements,

If you’re too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product…

And b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren’t healthy […] then I guess I have to. It’s terrible that this industry bullied you into being so fixated… This is a condensed version of the plot. I hope you found it entertaining.
