Is the New Zack Snyder Film ‘Army of the Dead’ a Sequel to ‘Dawn of the Dead’?
Army of the Dead, directed by Zack Snyder, is his latest zombie film. Many fans were excited to see if there would be any similarities when Netflix revealed Snyder’s new zombie project. Although Army of the Dead isn’t a sequel, it does contain a few Easter eggs that allude to Dawn of the Dead.
Zack Snyder’s first film, ‘Dawn of the Dead,’ was released in 2004.
Dawn of the Dead was originally intended to be a reflection on a materialistic culture, consumerism, and alienation by George Romero. Ana (Sarah Polley) flees her zombified husband and discovers her Milwaukee neighborhood has been invaded by zombies in the horror film.
Unlike Romero’s zombies, Snyder’s quick zombies were introduced to zombie fans. Thanks to Snyder’s access to sophisticated special effects, his 2004 remake offered viewers a more realistic visual of zombies.
Netflix’s ‘Army of the Dead’
Scott Ward, the main protagonist of Army of the Dead, is played by Dave Bautista. Ward, a down-and-out mercenary, is willing to collaborate with a shady millionaire in order to reclaim his daughter’s love. The millions of dollars he will get are merely a bonus.
James Wan directed both ‘Insidious’ and ‘The Conjuring,’ but there is a difference between the two films. Please spread the word.
Ward and his motley crew must get in and out of the walled-in city in under 36 hours, set in a zombie-infested Las Vegas. If they don’t, a nuke will turn them into rubble, along with the city’s evolved zombies.
Easter eggs from ‘Dawn of the Dead’ appear in Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead.’
Since the end of Dawn of the Dead, Snyder has been dreaming about Army of the Dead. Unfortunately, none of those ideas came to fruition. Army of the Dead, on the other hand, is a different matter.
“Just exploring Dawn in the process of making the movie and dismantling it [was exciting],” Snyder says… This is a condensed version of the plot. I hope you found it entertaining.
