Is Keanu Reeves or Leonardo DiCaprio the better actor?

A new wave of actors rose to stardom in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Future A-listers like Keanu Reeves and Leonardo DiCaprio got their big breaks during that period. Despite their ten-year age gap, Reeves had his first commercial hit in 1989, while DiCaprio earned his first Oscar nomination just a few years later. So who is the better of the two actors?

Keanu Reeves is currently juggling three different film franchises.

The new emphasis in Hollywood is on franchise films. And it appears that Reeves excels in this field. Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, one of his early successes, spawned two sequels, an animated film, and other media. Reeves also has a habit of adding another movie series to his to-do list every decade or so. He starred in The Matrix a decade after the first Bill and Ted.

Then, 15 years later, Reeves starred in John Wick, a revenge-driven action-thriller. The 2014 film, of course, catapulted him into a new age of fame. Point Break, Pace, The Devil’s Advocate, Something’s Gotta Give, Constantine, and Toy Story 4 were all hits for Reeves. In addition, his dramatic work in River’s Edge and My Own Private Idaho is underappreciated.

The Oscar-winning star of ‘Titanic’ is Leonardo DiCaprio.

While Reeves has his hand in numerous popular franchises, DiCaprio took the opposite approach. Following early breakouts What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and Romeo + Juliet, the actor found himself in one of the biggest movies of all time, Titanic. Since then, he’s been concentrating on establishing relationships with some of Hollywood’s most prestigious filmmakers.

Most notably, DiCaprio has worked with Martin Scorsese several times since 2002’s Gangs of New York, including Oscar winners The Departed and The Aviator. But he’s also had critically acclaimed roles in box office successes like… This is a condensed version of the plot. I hope you found it entertaining.
