Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are concerned about a sequel without Chadwick Boseman.
The death of Chadwick Boseman shocked the film industry. Although we now know that the Black Panther actor’s health issues predated many of his later films, the surprising nature of his death heightened the impact of his work in the MCU.
But just because Boseman is no longer alive doesn’t mean T’Challa has to vanish forever.
T’Challa is absent from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ according to Kevin Feige.
‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ is a film based on the Chinese legend of the ten rings. ‘Has the Craziest Action Sequences,’ says one reviewer. Simu Liu expresses his opinion.
Kevin Feige discussed the challenge ahead of them.
It wasn’t yet another Marvel film when it came to Black Panther. It was the first superhero film of that scale to feature a predominantly Black cast, as well as a predominantly Black crew behind the camera.
As a result, T’Challa’s place of honor inside the MCU has spilled over into the modern world. Black children now have an MCU superhero to look up to and one day show their children.
Black Panther, on the other hand, predates Boseman, the MCU, and all of the recent hype around it. Looking ahead, Feige sees an opportunity to pay homage while accepting the source material’s timeless essence.
In an interview with Deadline, Feige said, “So much of the comics and the first movie is the world of Wakanda.” “Wakanda is a place where characters and various subcultures can be explored further. The next story’s primary subject was always and initially this. We’re not doing a CG Chadwick or recasting T’Challa,” says Chadwick.
This decision is a relief to many fans of the franchise, but everyone from fans to filmmakers seems to know the unique challenges of the job ahead of them.
