Every Jump Scare in the New Ed and Lorraine Warren Story in ‘The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It’

The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It is based on Arne Cheyenne Johnson’s claim that he was possessed by a demon when he murdered his landlady in 1981. It made sense for James Wan and his team to include this story in The Conjuring franchise because it was a case that world-renowned ghost-hunting pair Ed and Lorraine Warren worked on. Find out how many jump scares the new Conjuring horror film has.

[SPOILER ALERT: The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It contains spoilers.]

‘The Devil Made Me Do It’ was not directed by James Wan.

Wan did not direct The Conjuring 3, despite common assumption. Instead, Michael Chaves, a friend and associate, directed the picture. Chaves previously worked on The Curse of La Llorona, another film set in the Conjuring universe. However, just because Wan did not direct the most recent movie in the Conjuring franchise does not mean it is devoid of jump scares.

There are a total of 13 jump scares in ‘The Conjuring 3: The Devil Made Me Do It.’

Jump scares have become synonymous with The Conjuring universe’s films.

The Devil Made Me Do It is a courtroom drama that is a cross between American Horror Story and a courtroom drama. While the new thriller focuses less on the United States court case and more on the fictitious villain The Occultist (Eugenie Bondurant), there are still plenty of jump scares.
