David Schwimmer Couldn’t Picture Chandler Until the First Table Reading in ‘Friends’
Friends returns to HBO Max in a special reunion episode after 17 years off the air. For the first time, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Jennifer Aniston will all be on set for the reunion episode. In interviews leading up to the new episode, the stars addressed the program and more. Schwimmer mentioned that until the first table reading, he didn’t feel like he understood Chandler Bing’s part.

Rachel Green, Chandler Bing, Ross Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, and Monica Geller, who played the iconic characters of Rachel Green, Chandler Bing, Ross Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, and Monica Geller, returned to the Friends set to film the special episode. The group recited some of their most famous lines, played games, and sat in the iconic Geller-Bing apartment unit while they were there.
Since the show ended in May 2004, fans have been clamoring for a Friends spinoff with the entire cast. And now, HBO Max is bringing more Friends material to the table. But, going back to the beginning of the program, Schwimmer previously admitted that he didn’t really comprehend Chandler’s character at first.

Rachel Lindsay, a former Bachelorette, spoke with the group on Extra about the reunion episode. First, Schwimmer teased what fans may expect from the next episode of Friends.
He explained, “It’s not just the six of us watching bits of the program and commenting on it; it’s a much more, I hope, intriguing and sentimental type of special.”
“I recall the first table read, everybody’s delivery,” LeBlanc said of the first table read. ‘Wow, that’s such an interesting way to say that joke,’ I thought. Wow, that’s impressive… This is a condensed version of the narrative. I hope you found it entertaining.
