Could Janine Become a Gilead Aunt Like Lydia in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’?

Janine (Madeline Brewer) persuades Ester Keyes (McKenna Grace) to follow Aunt Lydia’s (Ann Dowd) instructions in the penultimate episode of The Handmaid’s Tale season 4. However, some fans are wondering if Janine is on her way to becoming a Gilead Aunt as a result of the transfer.

In the latest episode of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ Janine reunites with Ester.

Janine is returned to Aunt Lydia’s custody in The Handmaid’s Tale season 9 episode 9, “Progress.” She’s back in her handmaid’s gown and bonnet. Janine notices Ester Keyes, the young sexually abused wife who provided runaway hanmaids asylum earlier this season, being readied as a handmaid as she washes the floor of a filthy gym.

Ester, on the other hand, is a warrior, as we’ve seen in prior episodes. She also has a defiant attitude toward Aunt Lydia.

June Is Using Her Freedom for Vengeance in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ Unlike Her Friends

Ester goes on a hunger strike in defiance of Aunt Lydia’s restrictions. When Janine overhears other Aunts recommending that the young girl’s tongue be cut out as a behavioral “correction,” she begs Aunt Lydia to be kind.

Lydia permits Janine to speak with Ester in the hopes that she will enlighten her. Janine eventually persuades the youngster to cooperate in order for her to be alive “when things get better.”

The sequel to ‘The Handmaid’s Tale,’ ‘The Testaments,’ introduces Pearl Girls.

Aunt Lydia establishes a new program to teach Aunts in Maragaret Atwood’s 2019 sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale, The Testaments. She refers to the young ladies as Pearl Girls, and she sends them around the world grooming and recruiting new handmaids.

Pearl Girls wear pearls, white caps, and silver in the novel… This is a condensed version of the narrative. I hope you found it entertaining.
